Adagio College of Performing Arts

The NQF BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) course is a two-year full-time course which sits at level 3 on the national framework and is equivalent to 3 A Levels. The course is suitable for students between the ages of 16-19 and is government funded with 16 hours of guided learning per week. There is an option to ‘top up’ that is also available for students who wish to partake in adding more training hours to their timetable and participate in additional skill classes (to upgrade to the top-up course, an additional fee is applied.) The course also attracts extra UCAS points through the Teacher Training, LAMDA, Trinity College & ISTD examinations.

What can ACPa offer me?

BTEC
Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance)

The course is divided into 2 years of study. Throughout each year the students will study a range of units that will give them strong foundations.
On successful completion of year 1 the students will achieve an Edexcel BTEC Level 3 90- credit Diploma Performing Arts (Dance), which is the equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Then when they progress onto year 2 that qualification will be transferred to an Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (Dance), which then equates to 3 A levels.

ISTD Diploma in Dance Education

Our Approved Dance Centre is the perfect place for you to train in the core disciplines of the ISTD Teaching Programme. This is perfectly suited to students looking to add extra credits to their skillsets.

The Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) Qualification Accreditation is an Ofqual regulated teaching qualification, which provides an excellent introduction to a career in teaching dance. It offers student teachers a clear pathway to become a qualified dance teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and allows the opportunity to engage with up-to-date research in best practice related to dance teaching and learning.

This Includes:

Pilates, Commercial, Floor Barre, Ensemble Singing, Body Conditioning, Aerial Arts, Acting for Screen, Voice Coaching, Musical Theatre, Acro & Tumbling

This additional option will allow you the opportunity to develop your skills and broaden your knowledge as a performer. Some of you will have lots of experience in performing and theatre work, others may not, the course will allow a range of learners the opportunity to achieve and succeed
